2015 Fuel Price Report:
The Impact of national fuel prices on Vehicle Reimbursement

In 2015, 34 states had a higher fuel price than the national average ($2.40/gal).  If an organization used the national average as a reimbursement guideline in any of those 34 states, their employees were under-reimbursed for their fuel expenses.  Read why this is especially alarming for companies with employees driving in strict labor law states like California.

Key findings include:

  • Californians paid $10 billion more than the rest of the nation for fuel in 2015
  • Three states had fuel prices more than $0.60 above the national average
  • Reimbursement-related lawsuits have resulted in settlements ranging from $1 million to $7 million
